ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (PRWEB) Currently Wellbeats’ highest-rated instructor by consumers, Kingsriter will be responsible for the company’s overall fitness direction and philosophy.
Mark Kingsriter is already a well-loved figure among users of Wellbeats, a Minnesota-based provider of virtual, on-demand fitness content. Now, the company’s top-rated instructor will take an even more active hand in guiding the company’s overall fitness philosophy in the role of fitness director.
Kingsriter, a Wellbeats instructor since 2013, was named the company’s fitness director in December 2018. In this position, he will be responsible for Wellbeats’ overall fitness direction and philosophy, planning classes that meet the needs and interests of a diverse group of users. He will also work with Wellbeats’ team of more than 50 instructors to improve their on-camera teaching effectiveness.
“Mark is the ideal person for this role. Our users love him, and he has a passion for fitness that is infectious with people of all backgrounds and ability levels. Mark has the skills, the energy, and the training experience to continually raise the quality bar for our virtual, on-demand fitness programs,” said Jason Von Bank, president and CEO, Wellbeats. “When you see Mark in action, it’s clear that he truly loves helping people understand new concepts, and his background helps him make connections easily. We’re thrilled to have him on board in this expanded role.”
Fitness has always had a significant presence in Kingsriter’s life. A soccer player in high school and college, Kingsriter served in the Marine Corps, has run six marathons, and is training for his first Ironman triathlon. But Kingsriter’s exercise habits fell off while he was earning his MBA. He was about 100 pounds overweight when a colleague brought him to his first group fitness class. Shortly after that, Kingsriter had an opportunity to teach a cycle class. He hasn’t looked back since. Kingsriter currently teaches cycle, yoga, strength, and circuit training classes for Wellbeats.
“Wellbeats has a fantastic group of instructors, but teaching in front of a camera is a different experience than working with a live group where you can sense the energy and identify people who need a little extra encouragement,” said Kingsriter, who since 2013 has traveled the country providing training for group fitness instructors. “I want to help our instructors look beyond the camera to the real people who are working hard to make a change, and I want to create the classes and other opportunities that will help build new connections between Wellbeats and our users.”
In addition to working with instructors and planning classes, Kingsriter is working on new programs to build bridges between Wellbeats and the communities the company serves. He is planning new cycling and running groups that will organize regular, in-person activities for members.
“I’m excited about what’s ahead. We have a couple of great new channels getting ready to launch. We’re going to hit the ground running,” said Kingsriter. “Virtual, on-demand fitness is such a wonderful platform because it lets people work out on their own schedule and on their own terms. I get really enthusiastic about these opportunities. It gives me the chance to spread an important message to a wide audience.”
